Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 14, 2026 · Effective immediately

This Privacy Policy explains what information Resumeora collects, how it is stored, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have regarding your data. By using Resumeora, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Quick Summary

Account required

A Resumeora account is required to build, save, and download resumes. We collect your email address and account credentials.

Cloud storage

Your resume drafts and exports are stored in our secure cloud database (Firebase) linked to your account.

No data selling

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing or commercial purposes.

Account usage limits

Each account may create resumes for up to 3 people. Violations of this policy may result in account suspension.

Your data, your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account and data at any time by contacting support.

Analytics

We use anonymized analytics to understand product usage and improve the platform. We do not use tracking for advertising.

1. Information We Collect

a) Account information

When you create an account, we collect your email address, a hashed password, and a unique user ID. If you sign in using a third-party provider (e.g., Google), we receive the information that provider makes available, typically your name and email address.

b) Resume content

You may enter personal information into the resume editor — including your name, phone number, email, location, work history, education, skills, certifications, and other professional details. This content is stored in our cloud database associated with your account.

c) Export and activity records

When you export your resume (e.g., PDF download), we may store metadata about that action, including the date, template used, and export format. We may also store a snapshot of the exported file in cloud storage linked to your account.

d) Billing information

If you purchase a Pro plan, payment is processed by our payment provider. We do not store your full card number or payment credentials on our servers. We receive a transaction confirmation and your plan details.

e) Support communications

If you contact us by email, we receive your email address, message content, and any attachments you include. If you are signed in, your user ID may also be associated with the communication.

f) Usage data

We collect anonymized usage data such as pages visited, features used, and session duration to understand how the product is used and where improvements are needed. This data is not linked to your personal identity.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide the service: Authenticate your account, save and load resume drafts, render templates, process exports, and enable Pro features.
  • To process payments: Manage Pro plan subscriptions and billing through our payment provider.
  • To improve the platform: Analyze anonymized usage patterns to fix bugs, improve performance, and prioritize new features.
  • To respond to support requests: Read and respond to emails you send us regarding your account, billing, or technical issues.
  • To enforce our policies: Detect and act on violations of our Terms of Service, including the account usage limits described below.
  • For security: Protect accounts from unauthorized access, detect fraudulent activity, and prevent abuse of the platform.

3. Where Data Is Stored

Resumeora uses Firebase (Google Cloud) to store account data, resume drafts, export records, and support submissions. Firebase data centres are located in the United States. By using Resumeora, you consent to your data being processed in the US.

Your resume content may also be saved locally in your browser's local storage for editing convenience. This local copy is controlled entirely by your device and is removed when you clear your browser data. Local storage data is not accessible by our servers.

4. Account Usage Limits & Enforcement

Personal use policy

Each Resumeora account is intended for personal use. One account may be used to create resumes for a maximum of 3 people (for example, the account holder and up to two immediate family members). Creating resumes for more than 3 individuals under a single account constitutes a violation of this policy.

What is permitted

  • Creating multiple versions of your own resume for different job applications.
  • Creating resumes for yourself and up to two other people (e.g., a spouse, sibling, or parent).
  • Switching between your own resumes for different career stages or industries.

What is not permitted

  • Creating resumes for more than 3 different individuals under a single account.
  • Using a Resumeora account to run a resume writing service for clients.
  • Creating bulk resumes for employees, students, or other groups through a personal account.
  • Sharing account credentials with multiple people to circumvent individual account limits.

Enforcement

Accounts found to be in violation of the 3-person usage limit will be suspended. In cases of clear commercial misuse, accounts may be permanently terminated. No refund will be issued for Pro plans on suspended or terminated accounts where a policy violation has been confirmed.

If you are unsure whether your intended use is permitted, contact us before proceeding at support@resumeora.com.

Custom multi-person plans

If you need to create resumes for more than 3 people — for an organization, HR team, placement cell, family group, or career coaching service — a custom plan is available. Contact us at support@resumeora.com with subject line "Custom plan enquiry." Include the number of people and intended use. Our team will provide options and pricing within 24–48 hours.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for commercial or marketing purposes.

We share data only with:

  • Service providers: Firebase (cloud storage), our payment processor, and analytics tools necessary to operate the platform. These providers are contractually bound to use your data only for the purpose of providing services to Resumeora.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Resumeora or its users.

6. Cookies and Analytics

Resumeora uses essential cookies to maintain your session and keep you signed in. These cookies are required for the service to function and cannot be disabled.

We also use anonymized analytics to understand product usage patterns. This data does not identify you personally and is not used for advertising or shared with advertisers.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so may prevent you from signing in or using certain features.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:

  • Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data transmission.
  • Secure authentication through Firebase Authentication.
  • Access controls that restrict data access to only the systems that require it.

No system is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at support@resumeora.com.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account data and resume content for as long as your account remains active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data from our systems within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it for a longer period.

Export metadata and payment records may be retained for accounting and legal compliance purposes for up to 7 years.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request that inaccurate or incomplete data be corrected.
  • Deletion: Request that your account and associated data be deleted.
  • Portability: Request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Restriction: Request that we limit how we process your data in certain circumstances.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@resumeora.com with the subject "Data rights request." We will respond within 30 days.

10. Children's Privacy

Resumeora is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child under 13 has created an account, we will delete the account and associated data promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has used Resumeora, contact us at support@resumeora.com.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify account holders by email.

Your continued use of Resumeora after the effective date of an updated policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
