Before you hit submit on any job application, run through this checklist. It covers every formatting rule, section requirement, keyword placement, and review step that determines whether your resume reaches a human recruiter — or gets filtered out silently.
Check my resume ATS scoreThe majority of companies — from early-stage startups to Fortune 500s — use applicant tracking systems to manage job applications. These platforms don't just store resumes: they parse them, score them against job requirements, and rank candidates before a recruiter sees anything.
A resume that isn't structured for ATS parsing can score low even when the candidate is highly qualified. Common failures include multi-column layouts that break the reading order, custom fonts that don't render, contact information placed in headers that get skipped, and skills listed using terms the JD doesn't use.
This checklist addresses every one of those failure points. Work through each category before every application.
